Warnings: Spoilers for end of the first series. Some gore & adult situations. Perhaps a touch of colorful language.
Summary: Practice losing every day
A/N: First series. Ignore the movie. This story was inspired by an NPR piece I heard about Representative Gabrielle Giffords. For those of you who are not American, she was a congresswoman who on January 8th of last year, was shot during an apparent assassination attempt that also wounded thirteen people and killed six more. She survived the shot, miraculously, and the NPR story was about some of the tremendous challenges facing those who have survived gunshot wounds to the head.
Part I: Typically, after a conversation of this duration with a woman, Roy offered up his first name. A token of his sincerity.
Part II: "It means knowing the difference between the choice that is right and the choice that is comfortable."
Part III: "I think the only person you're misleading is yourself, Roy."
